It’s okay to unfollow people in real life.

For the longest, I had this fear of missing out on the updates of some people who are no more emotionally or physically present in my life. I kept thinking that this is what connects us. Maybe a few Instagram stories and a couple of likes will do good in our relationship.

I was wrong. Never been so wrong.

You see, it is okay if you “miss out” on a few updates from the people who have no intentions of being there for you. The ones with negligible effect on you. It is a lot of burden for no reason. Believe me, it gets a lot better once you accept as then you are not focused on what pleases them or what might upset them if they see. Social media is a free space. Why restrict yourself for someone who couldn’t restrict himself/herself to stay longer and try?

Trying is all it takes.
